Mamasita

After all the hype and rave about Mamasita's I decided that my final meal in Melbourne would be here and in short, I thought it would be better. The food was good but not quite good enough for what was being said and why it was so popular. The portions were quite small, overpriced and you would need to order quite a few selections to be full.

In saying that in terms of taste and flavouring it was interesting, enjoyable and most of all fresh. It was nice to see Mexican food arranged elegantly on a plate rather than stacked up. The atmosphere was certainly buzzing with hungry, sociable people who wanted to relax after work and dine.

Do get here early unless you want to be seated at the bar as the queue gets very busy and people end up waiting on the stairs and out through the door. We arrived around peak time and it was very busy, I would have liked to come here again maybe at lunch when I feel I want something to graze at rather than get stuffed.
