Street Thai in Brighton lanes

I stumbled upon a little gem within Brighton lanes this week called Street Thai. The name says it all really, but if you didn't get it the restaurant focuses on Thai street food. The restaurant is trendy, modern and has a hint of Thai culture.

We ordered:

  • Pha Naeng Goongg - creamy red curry with tiger prawns and ground roasted peanut flavoured with kaffir lime leaves
  • Pad Kra-Prao Gai Krob - stir fry crispy Thai holy basil leaves with chicken, green beans, pepper, chillies & garlic
  • Fritter Lover - banana fritter in coconut flakes and sesame seeds topped with honey & chocolate served with vanilla ice-cream
Main dishes were served with Jasmine rice

The main dishes had strong flavours, which tasted great together and the food was so fresh. I usually find in the UK, so many cuisines from the far east are westernised and the dishes are butchered, but Street Thai really delivered. I would have hoped the food was more spicy as the Pad Kra-Prao Gai Krob was supposed to be very hot but didn't give my tongue that heated sensation. Nonetheless, the meal was good and decently priced and a place I would highly recommend.
